Analogue HD cameras (HDCVI, TVI, AHD) send video over coaxial cable to a DVR and are the more economical choice for straightforward coverage. IP cameras are network devices that send video over ethernet cable to an NVR, usually powered over the same cable by PoE. IP gives higher resolution, better digital zoom, easier expansion and smarter analytics such as line crossing and face detection. For most homes and small shops analogue HD is sufficient; for offices, factories and anywhere you may need to identify faces or number plates, IP is the better long-term investment.

Retention depends on hard-disk size, camera count, resolution and frame rate. As a rough guide, a 2TB disk with eight 2MP cameras recording continuously holds roughly 15 to 20 days, while the same disk with motion-only recording can stretch past a month. Higher-resolution 4MP and 8MP cameras consume proportionally more space. During the site survey we calculate the disk size needed for the retention period you require and quote it explicitly.
Yes. All cameras we supply include infrared LED night vision, typically covering 20 to 50 metres in complete darkness depending on the model. For sites where colour detail matters after dark — such as forecourts, showrooms and entrances — we can specify full-colour night vision cameras with built-in warm-light illuminators that keep footage in colour around the clock.
Yes. Recording to the DVR or NVR is entirely local and continues whether or not the internet is working. An internet connection is only needed for remote viewing on your phone and for cloud or email alerts. Many industrial and remote sites we serve run fully offline, with footage reviewed on-site or exported to USB.
We recommend a UPS sized for the recorder, cameras and network switch so the system keeps recording through short outages and load shedding. For longer outages we can integrate battery backup or a solar power supply — our solar division installs these regularly for CCTV sites in areas with unreliable grid supply.
Yes. Residential work is a significant part of what we do, from small four-camera home packages to full coverage for bungalows, farmhouses and housing society common areas. Home installations receive the same site survey, cable-concealment care, mobile app setup and warranty as our commercial projects.
Yes. We inspect existing installations, diagnose faults such as dead cameras, failing hard disks, damaged cabling or recorder issues, and quote for repair or upgrade. In many cases existing coaxial cabling can be reused when upgrading to higher-resolution HD cameras, which keeps the cost of an upgrade well below a full replacement.
